Small gestures...Big impacts...

It is my nana's (maternal grandpa's) birthday today. Yesterday when I came back from dinner with some of my friends, I decided to order a bouquet of flowers online and get it home-delivered to him. This afternoon when I performed my daily lunchtime ritual (i.e. calling up home), nana's happiness was beyond bounds. Mom told me that both nana and nani's eyes welled up when they got the bouquet. Ok now I am not showing off how thoughtful I am, but its just that I am so far off from them and I feel very guilty about it. Read this post and you would know what I am talking about. I guess it is one of the best posts I have ever written.

A gesture like this (of sending flowers to him on his b'day) would have seemed very small to me, but to him, it meant the world. It is good to sometimes let your loved ones know how much you love them - either through words or through actions.

@ Renu -> Yes, flowers do their own trick. Even I used to be against expenditure on flowers and cards, but now I find them well worth whatever I pay for them. :)

The first thing I did is read your blog at home before leaving office and wanted to comment here immediately I got to office but didn't get the time...all "fucked" up cases showed up today~! anyways...

I think your nana is also happy because he is from another generation where people hardly offered flowers to each other. Nowadays, it is quite common ~ But I do not know if your nana is in India or elsewhere ~

I agree, sometimes this simple gesture for you made him so happy and emotional. But in some cases, you do certain things with full of love and emotion and the other person end up with no-reaction ~ I've been there ! That hurts a lot !

@ Prash -> Hey buddy...welcome back. How was your trip?
Yes my nana is in India. And I agree that it hurts a lot if your gesture is not even acknowledged, let alone reciprocated. :(
